American Hospital Association supports COVID-19 vaccine mandates

The American Hospital Association supports hospitals and health systems that require their workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine, the group announced Wednesday.

AHA, which represents nearly 5,000 hospitals and health systems, joins dozens of providers and several associations that have also backed vaccine mandates for healthcare workers.

LIMA, July 21 (Reuters) – Peruvian police said on Wednesday they had dismantled an alleged criminal ring that had charged as much $21,000 per bed for seriously ill COVID-19 patients in a state-run hospital, aggravating care in a country hit by one of the world’s deadliest outbreaks of the virus.

RWJBarnabas Health in NJ fires 6 hospital supervisors for refusing COVID-19 vaccine

A New Jersey hospital axed six supervisor-level employees for refusing to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, reports said.

RWJBarnabas Health had required supervisory workers to get jabbed by June 30, and now the system plans to expand that requirement to all of its staff and doctors, reported.

“As of July 14, 2,979 staff members, or 99.7 percent, who are at the supervisor level and above, have been fully vaccinated or received medical and religious exemptions or a deferral,” the company said in a statement to NBC News on Wednesday.
