I hear the deeply emotional personal stories from clients all the time about seeking medical care and being told, no matter the issue, to “just lose weight.”

One client recently told me about hurting her knee years ago, going to the doctor, being told to lose weight, and receiving no further treatment such as an MRI to rule out a tear or serious issue. Turns out she did have a tear that with treatment and/or surgery might have been resolved, but instead, now years later, she is still dealing with pain and mobility issues as a result.
