“There are some indications that this drug may have some merit in treating Covid-19 … Yes, it is possible that it helped this woman,” Russo said. “But the trials and testing are ongoing. We don’t have definitive data yet to show it does help. Presently, it is not recommended as a treatment for Covid-19.”

Russo is the chief of infectious diseases at the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He has no involvement in the Smentkiewicz case.

The Office of Police Accountability is investigating a report that a Seattle officer allegedly refused to wear a mask while responding to a call inside a hospital.

SEATTLE — The Office of Police Accountability (OPA) is investigating after an ER nurse said a Seattle police officer refused to wear a mask inside a hospital. 

The incident allegedly happened Friday, Jan. 15, when an officer responded to a call at a local hospital and refused to put on a face mask.

“Parents, please make good choices to keep your children and the community safe” are the words said by a spokesperson for Banner Health as she says hundreds of children with COVID-19 in Arizona are being admitted into hospitals each month.

In a Twitter thread Sunday, Jan. 17, Becky Armendariz, a public relations specialist for Banner Health, says hundreds of children with COVID-19 are being hospitalized each month and numbers are growing from December and January cases.

YORK Police say man showed up at hospital following shooting

York City Police say one man is in the hospital following a shooting Saturday morning.Police say around 10:30 a.m. they were called to the area of Cottage Hill Road and North Pershing Avenue to investigate a report of shots fired. In the course of the investigation, officers were informed of a shooting victim being dropped off at a local hospital. The victim has been identified as a 23-year-old male with a gunshot wound that is not life-threatening.An investigation is ongoing.
